In the account recorded by David Allen, Moseley used a bucket and rope to bring an exhausted man aboard. Allen identifies him as Gerald Evens and describes their reunion fifty-one years later.
Gerald Evens has a separate Charybdis record. Linking the two accounts preserves the relationship described in the recollection; it does not independently verify every detail of the rescue.
Recorded as a Wensleydale rescuer in the personal recollection published by David Allen; rank and service number are not established.
This account is attributed recollection. Moseley’s rank, service number and formal given names have not been established here. The name is retained as published.
A correction, a remembered story or a document reference can help deepen this account. Contributions from families, survivors and researchers are reviewed before publication, with private contact details kept separate from the public record.
